About Woodland

Tomatoes, rice and tractors

Woodland, Yolo County

Woodland lies about twenty miles northwest of Sacramento on Interstate 5, surrounded by fields of tomatoes, rice and sunflowers. The crops are processed and stored in plants on the edge of town, and a museum on the east side displays one of the largest collections of antique tractors in the country. The town began in 1853 as a single store called Yolo City and took the name Woodland in 1861.
